Empower Talents & Careers is recruiting a Network Engineer for a client in the mining sector.

Main purpose:

IT Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and managing computer networks. This role ensures the network infrastructure is reliable, secure, and performs optimally to support business operations. The engineer also troubleshoots and resolves network-related issues, implements security protocols, and performs regular maintenance to prevent system downtime. He also plans to ensure the network is designed to be fit for purpose and supported by efficient contracts and effective suppliers.
The purpose of Network Engineer is to support the design, implementation and maintenance of CDI’s networks under the guidance of senior team members. This role is a foundational position, focused on executing operational tasks, assisting with troubleshooting, and learning network technologies to ensure the network remains available and performs reliably.

Network Operations
• Perform regular maintenance (updates, configurations).
•Diagnose and resolve level 1 & 2 network incidents.
•Monitor performance using network tools.
•Maintain accurate documentation of configurations and procedures.

Implementation & Projects
• Install and configure routers, switches, firewalls and Wi-Fi.
•Contribute to projects (tests, software upgrades, proof of concept).
•Assist in the design and deployment of central and local networks.

Network Management
•Monitor and optimize network performance.
•Manage installations, upgrades and configurations.
• Comply with change management protocols.
Collaboration
•Work with site IT teams to align needs and solutions.
•Maintain accurate network diagrams and documentation.

Training & Development
• Build expertise through training and self-learning.
•Learn from senior engineers and share best practices.

Profil du poste

Qualifications / Experience & skills:

•Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
• CCNA/CCNP, Fortinet or CompTIA Network+ certification is an advantage.
•Proficiency in written and spoken English.
•Min. 3 years’ experience as a network engineer, including project management.
•Solid understanding of IT infrastructure and technologies.
•Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• International experience is an asset.
•Office-based with occasional travel.
•Flexibility to work evenings or weekends when required.
• High motivation, integrity and collaborative spirit.
