Description du poste
1- PURPOSE & OBJECTIVE
Reporting to the Electrical Coordinator, the Electrical Leadhand is primarily responsible for surface
electrical engineering and maintenance programs of the site to optimize the safety and performance of all
fixed plant to achieve optimal operational and production goals while ensuring compliance with relevant
policies and procedures. The incumbent is to provide support to the Electrical Coordinator in matters
relating to the Electrical systems for the mine site under his responsibility.
2- KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
General
- Leading, developing and mentoring a group of electrical maintenance personnel to complete quality work safely and efficiently.
- Ensuring all maintenance electrical works are completed in a safe manner and in compliance with established safe work procedures and systems.
- Identifying and organising resource required to complete electrical maintenance works.
- Ensuring the electrical maintenance plan in their area is efficiently carried out.
- Responding to and managing unscheduled maintenance work so that impact on the operation is minimised.
- Set realistic goals and conduct meaningful performance reviews with each crew member.
Compliance / Quality Control
- Promote and adhere to appropriate internal methodologies, policies, procedures and standards.
- Consistently maintain a high quality of work within the maintenance team.
- Provide input regarding improvement opportunities and areas of risk.
- Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements (Including Company Policy, Standards, and Procedures) through training and development of staff and promoting by example.
Staff Development:
- Assist the Electrical Coordinator in developing appropriate selection criteria for the positions within the Electrical Maintenance team.
- Ensure personnel have the appropriate equipment, licenses, skills, induction and training to safely undertake their tasks.
- Promote and develop the skills of subordinates through the transfer of technology and skill development through on-the-job training programs.
- Identify development opportunities and programs that assist with defining future career progression possibilities.
- Encourage and facilitate effective and supportive communication between all team members and related departments.
Safety Management:
- Demonstrate personal commitment about safety and environmental and Social Responsibility practices.
- Ensure every person within the team is fit for work.
- Ensure that agreed procedures, safeguards and controls are applied and used.
- Ensure all activities are conducted safely and in accordance with Company standards and procedures.
- Ensure hazard management plans are observed.
- Keep statutory and internal reporting as required.

Profil du poste
Relevant experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical field in mining sector focused in overhead lines, high voltage switching and electrical motors.
- PLC experience beneficial.
- Scada experience beneficial.
- Field Instrumentation experience beneficial.
- French language skills desired and essential
- Working experience with Microsoft Excel & Word.
- Able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization and build effective relationships and networks.
- Possesses training and mentoring skills with the ability to develop an effective team.
- Ability to respond to a changing work environment.
- The ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at the same time.
- A reputation for integrity and ethics.
